So still another potential GOP candidate has bailed out.  Last night on his Fox news program, Governor Mike Huckabee announced that he would not be running  for 2012.  It was a curious announcement.  Huckabee spent three minutes explaining why he could win the nomination.  Then he spent 30 seconds saying he would not run — but giving no reason for refusing.

There is really only one conclusion.  Huckabee is afraid he could not beat Obama.  And so it is with the others.  Despite much importunity, Governor Christie of New Jersey refuses to get in.  So does Governor  Mitch Daniels of Kansas.

In every poll so far taken, President Obama wins over every GOP candidate.

Are the potential GOP candidates afraid of Obama?

What do you think?

The labour strife in Wisconsin seems like a frontal assault on the unions.  Governor Scott Walker has proposed increasing the amount of money public employees would have to pay for health-care and pension benefits.  The Governor also proposes to remove the union’s bargaining rights on those benefits.   The unions would only be able to bargain for wages.

Some Democrats are boycotting the Assembly.  The Governor says he will start firing thousands of public  workers if the Democrats do not return

President Obama has called this what it is – “an assault on unions.”

Unions all over the US are up in arms over this arbitrary rape of their bargaining right.

Are the Republicans trying to break the unions?

Will this affect the 2012 election?
