A new “Trial of the Century” has now being in a case where Dr. Conrad Murray, Jackson’s personal physician is accused of killing his patient with an dose of drugs.

The prosecutors charge he was killed by the actions of Dr. Murray who gave the singer a lethal dose of propofol.  The doctor then botched his recovery efforts when he found the singer unconscious in the bedroom of his rented mansion.

Defense attorneys countered by asserting that mr. Jackson caused his own death by taking propofol after the doctor left the room.  The dosage was enough to kill him instantly.

By some media, Dr. Murray is being portrayed as a money grubbing doctor who had little real interest in his patients except for their pocket books.

Last night, however, four of the doctors patients appeared on CNN on The Piers Morgan show.  All four swore up and down that Dr. Murray had saved their lives from hearth disease, that he was caring and that he often service patients for free.

Was Michael Jackson killed?

What do you think?

    Tony Kondaks Says:

Not that Murray shouldn’t be culpable of at least malpractise, but I believe Michael Jackson killed Michael Jackson.

As a rich, spoiled, rock star who got everything he wanted, those wanting to be close to him for his fame — such as Dr. Murray– could easily be exploited by Jackson.

As I understand it, propofol should NEVER be used as a treatment for insomnia…but that’s precisely what Jackson was using it for. Only problem was, he needed a Doctor to both prescribe and administer it. Had Murray followed his training and done the right thing and refused to administer it to him, Jackson simply would have replaced him with a doctor who would.

    Thanks Tony-You’ve said it perfectly!
(Murray was earning $150K per month as private physician to MJ.)
Botched handling? I guess so…they were so accustomed to preserving the image at all costs, they probably didn’t think about his life being at risk at that moment.
I think that Michael Jackson was immensely talented, just a TAD eccentric, and he had a lot more to explore & deliver.
I saw him in Mtl-1983 The Victory Tour. An excellent show. I never believed he was a child abuser.
This could fall within another of Neil’s topics “suicide”…is it preventable?

I agree with Tony. The doctor may be guilty of malpractise, but I don’t believe for one moment that he would want to kill a cash cow deliberately. If anyone “killed” Michael Jackson, it was Michael Jackson…who probably knew on some level that the drugs he was taking were dangerous, and so he was counting on the doctor not only to supply them, but also to counter their effects if he took an overdose…really, REALLY bad judgement, there.

    Neil McKenty Says:

It seems to me Dr. Murray was in an ambivalent position – between his love for his patient and his love for his money.

The lynch mob is now after him and Murray will be lucky to surive with his medical license intact.

Dr. Murray should lose his license. I don’t think he was “responsible” for MJ’s death; but he was in collusion, so I am curious about the outcome on this one.

Uh, as I read about the trial that’s going on, I think I may have to rethink my original answer. Seems the good Doctor Murray really screwed up…and if the paramedics are correct, Michael Jackson may be alive today if he hadn’t.
